Not your typical sport fishing charter...
Want to look at a whole new way to charter for Bluefin & Shark in Massachusetts Bay? Our concept involved having you as our guests on our luxuriously equipped sport fishing vessel. We love to fish and try to get out on the water 2-3 days per week during the season. We are very serious about bluefin tuna fishing, but we make a living doing other (more profitable) ventures. If we don't have a charter for the day, we go commercial fishing out east of Stellwagen. If we have a charter on board, we will leave early, fish for Bluefin in the morning, and then go out east to catch ground fish or sharks in the afternoon. It's always a full day with us...pre-dawn till a late afternoon arrival back at the dock in Scituate.
In our real jobs, we use the vessel to entertain our fortune 100 executive clients. If you are looking to entertain your client with a day of sport fishing, we can provide you with a very comfortable and professional environment for entertainment.
Since we don't do this for a living, we don't have to charge you thousands of dollars for a full day charter and you don't need to load the vessel with 6 anglers to keep the price per angler reasonable. We will include you on our trips whether you are by yourself or with a party of up to six.
You’re going to get your hands dirty when you fish with us. We will have one person on board running the cockpit, but he will not act as your typical mate. We are all going fishing together as a team. Some will have more experience than others....if so, we will put that experience to work. All of us will have specific jobs on board and these jobs will need to be executed successfully from when we leave the dock until the last fish is landed in the cockpit. These jobs will be rotated hourly so everyone will get a chance to experience each job on the team.
The mate will provide instruction on how we plan to fish for the day. Depending on the sea, wind and weather conditions, we may be setting a 7 rod trolling spread, drift with live bait from kites and balloons, slow troll with rigged bait, chum or chunk. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn the new vertical jigging technique that targets tuna with light tackle. Working the cockpit is the fun stuff of offshore fishing that you don't get to do on other charter vessels. We fight our fish with stand-up gear...you'll need to become proficient with this technique quickly or we can guarantee some sore muscles the day after....
In 2011, we invested in state of the art electronics and fishing gear for this vessel. This gear includes all new Shimano reels with custom stand-up tuna rods, new Shimano & Okuma vertical jigging rods for jigging tuna on the drift, state of the art marine electronics from RayMarine including their largest digital radar for finding birds over feeding tuna and a newly designed 25 degree sonar transducer. There is a 15" video display in the cockpit. This works great displaying the fish-finder when vertical jigging. If you get tired of watching the fish-finder, we can switch the cockpit display to watch the Red Sox game in hi-def while we're fishing!!!
Two guests will be hooked up to wireless microphones and the entire trip will be videotaped. We can record over 48 hours of video, so we won't miss a thing. The overhead "eye in the sky" video cameras are joystick controlled from the bridge to ensure that all of the action is recorded for the day. We provide an edited highlights video to our business clients when they are on the vessel. We'll do the same for you at no additional charge.
For safety, we are fully compliant with the USCG as a 50+ mile offshore commercial fishing vessel. This includes a USCG SOLAS-A life raft, USCG approved survival suits, two category I 406 Mhz EPIRBS, satellite phone and USGC type I lifejackets.
We look forward to enjoying the day fishing with you....
